Project description

In response to the changing demographic and economic challenges of the cross – border area, the
project aims to contribute to the creation and development of social enterprise.
With a project worth around € 213,000, the Gerontology Center in Subotica and the Szentes Care Center will be the first social welfare institution in the region to offer a cross-border practice, the so-called “inclusive business model”.

To this end, the partner institutions have identified a number of key activities, including the assessment of the employability of older people with disabilities. After the survey, the expansion of their knowledge and the development of their skills will be developed.

However, the most important activity will be the establishment of the first regional Entrepreneurship Incubator for the Elderly, which will be equipped and accessible to people with disabilities and the elderly to develop their entrepreneurial willingness.

Souvenirs made by the selected target group (ceramics, handicrafts, utensils) will be sold, and the proceeds will be used to purchase raw materials on a non-profit basis.

In addition to this resource, the Project is developing a completely new, multilingual web portal that will enable older / special care providers to market their products and services to a wider market and thus ensure the sustainability of their business. “
